Getting started
Killer Bourbon is a collection manager and tasting journal for bourbon and whiskey. Your bunker is the collection; a pour is a tasting note.
- Adding bottles. Search the catalog, scan a barcode, or add a bottle by hand. Barrel Proof members can also scan the label and let the app fill in the details.
- Can't find a bottle? Add it manually and it goes into the catalog for review. That's how the catalog grows.
- Duplicates. Two of the same bottle stay two separate entries, each with its own price, purchase date, and fill level. That's deliberate.
Barrel Proof subscriptions
Barrel Proof is billed through your Apple Account, not by us. That means subscriptions are managed on your device.
- Manage or cancel: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Killer Bourbon. Cancelling stops the next renewal; you keep access until the current period ends.
- Restore a purchase: in the app, open the Barrel Proof screen and tap Restore. Use the same Apple Account you purchased with.
- Founding Member is a one-time purchase. It never renews and doesn't appear under Subscriptions.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
Cancelling never deletes your collection. Your bottles, pours, and notes stay put, and paid-only features simply lock again.
Your account and your data
- Export your collection. Export is free, on every plan. Your data is yours to take with you.
- Delete your account. You can do it in the app or by email. See Delete your account below.
- Trouble signing in? Check the spam folder for the confirmation email. If the link has expired, request a new one from the sign-in screen. Still stuck? Email us.
Delete your account
You can delete your Killer Bourbon account and its data at any time. It can't be undone.
- In the app: open the menu, tap your name at the top to open your profile, then tap Delete account at the bottom and confirm. Your account is deleted right away.
- Without the app: email cheers@killerbourbon.app from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm the request came from you and delete the account within 30 days.
What's deleted: your profile, sign-in, date of birth, collection, lists, pours, posts, comments, photos, and notifications.
What stays, without your name: bottles, photos, and distillery details you added to the shared catalog, so other collectors don't lose them, and messages you sent, which stay in the other person's conversation. If you own a group or a Shared Bunker, it passes to another member; with no other members, it's deleted.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel a Barrel Proof subscription. Cancel it first in your App Store or Google Play subscriptions.
Privacy and location
Your collection is private by default. Nothing is shared until you choose to share it.
When you spot a bottle, the app records the store's location, never yours. If you allow location access, it's used only to sort nearby stores while you're using the app. It is never stored or attached to your account. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Fixing catalog mistakes
The catalog is community-built, so it isn't perfect. In the app you can suggest a market value, report a barcode that scanned to the wrong bottle, or report a photo or post that shouldn't be there. Our team reviews each one.
Prices shown are reference points for your own records. Nothing is bought or sold in Killer Bourbon.
Reporting a problem
Found a bug, or something that looks broken? Email cheers@killerbourbon.app with a screenshot if you have one. To report content or a person, use the ⋯ menu on the post itself. That routes straight to our moderation queue.
